Caller ID app Truecaller for smartphones has introduced artificial intelligence (AI) powered call recording and transcription features in the country. With this, both Android and iOS users will be able to record calls on their smartphones. Along with this, they will also get the facility to transcribe them with the help of AI. Last year, Truecaller made these features available in America.

These features will be only for paid users of this app. truecaller Said that with this, users will be able to record calls directly inside the app and they will not need any third-party app for this. Along with this, the company has also provided the feature of transcription using AI. With this, transcription of recorded calls will be available. Even before this, Truecaller had provided call recording facility to the users but it had to be stopped after Google imposed restrictions.

The feature of transcribing calls has been provided in Google’s Pixel 8 series and Samsung’s AI supported Galaxy smartphones. Last year, Truecaller also launched this caller identification service on the globally popular WhatsApp for messaging. This will make it easier for users to avoid spam calls on the internet. Spam and telemarketing calls have increased in many countries including India. In a report by Truecaller, it was said that users in the country receive an average of 18 spam calls per month. The country’s telecom regulator had also directed telecom companies like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel to block telemarketing calls on their networks using artificial intelligence filters. Truecaller had said that it is in talks with telecom companies to implement such a solution.

Truecaller opened its first exclusive office outside Sweden in Bengaluru. This office will be used to develop special features for the country. This company, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, started its business in India about a decade ago. The capacity of this office is about 250 workers. Modern technology and facilities are available in it. Truecaller has about 35 crore users and out of these, about 25 crore users are from India. It says there are unique opportunities in the country to launch new products and services on its platform. Truecaller had said that the feedback it received has helped in improving the solutions, which is important for its growth and innovation capabilities.
