Toyota Kirloskar Motors on Monday launched its most affordable 7-seater car in the Indian market, the Toyota Rumion, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Its specialty is long mileage and presence of segment leading features. Cosmetic changes have been made to the car compared to the original Maruti Ertiga. Not only this, Toyota has also introduced this car in CNG variant, whose mileage is stated to be 26 kilometers per kilogram.

A total of 3 variants and 6 trims of Toyota Rumion will be sold, in which CNG option is also available. Toyota Rumion prices start at Rs 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 11.24 lakh (ex-showroom). If we talk about the special CNG variant, its price starts from Rs 11.24 lakh. This is the cheapest 7-seater car of Toyota.

Customers interested in purchasing it can book it from the company’s official website or nearest dealership with a token amount of Rs 11,000.

In Toyota Rumion, the company has used 1.5 liter capacity K-series engine, which will also be available with CNG option similar to Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The petrol engine generates a power output of 75.8 kw and a torque of 136.8 Nm. Whereas in CNG mode, the same engine generates power of 64.6 kw and torque of 121.5 Nm. The engine is paired with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota says that the new Neo Drive technology and E-CNG technology have been used in the car, which work to improve the mileage. The company has claimed that with petrol the car can give a mileage of up to 20.51 km per liter and the CNG variant can give a mileage of up to 26.11 km per kg.

Toyota Rumion gets features like 17.78 cm Smart Play Cast touch screen audio system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Toyota i-Connect with 55 plus features, remote climate control, lock/unlock, smartwatch compatibility.

It also includes Alert Service Connect feature, which generates alerts in case of malfunction. Additionally, safety features include Auto Collision Notification, Tow Alert, Find My Car, etc. It also includes features like dual front and front seat side airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABD) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), engine immobilizer, seat belt reminder, high-speed alert system, ESP, hill hold assist etc.
