Time magazine has names of 15 artists, 15 titans, 16 icons, 24 leaders, 15 innovators and 15 pioneers.
Time magazine on Wednesday released the list of the world’s 100 most influential personalities for 2024. This includes the names of actor Alia Bhatt, wrestler Sakshi Malik, World Bank President Ajay Banga, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and actor-director Dev Patel.
The list also includes America’s Energy Loan Program Office Director Jigar Shah, Professor of Astronomy and Physics at Yale University, Priyamvada Natarajan. Apart from these, Indian-origin restaurant owner Asma Khan and Yulia Navalnaya, wife of late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, have also been given place.
World Bank President Ajay Banga was born in Pune, did MBA from Ahmedabad.
Ajay Banga of Indian origin took over as World Bank President on June 2 last year. With this he became the first black person to chair two global financial institutions, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
On May 3, 63-year-old Ajay Banga was elected by the Executive Directors of the World Bank as its 14th President. His tenure will be for 5 years. Banga is the first Indian-American to chair the World Bank. He replaces David Malpas, who had decided to resign in February.
Ajay Banga was born on 10 November 1959 in Pune. His father Harbhajan Singh Banga was a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army. He did his schooling from Jalandhar and Shimla, graduation from DU and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. In 2016, the Government of India also honored him with Padmashree.
