Solar Eclipse 2024: The solar eclipse that is going to occur on April 8 is going to be special in many ways. According to a report, this solar eclipse will be the longest total solar eclipse in the last 50 years. During this time, the Moon will cover the entire disk of the Sun and there will be darkness during the day. Just a day before the eclipse, the Moon will come close to the Earth at its closest point and the distance between the two will be 3 lakh 60 thousand kilometers. On the day of the eclipse, the average distance of the Earth and the Moon from the Sun will be about 15 crore kilometers.

Because of this, the total solar eclipse will last for about 7.5 minutes. This is a rare phenomenon in itself. Earlier such a long solar eclipse was seen in the African continent in 1973.

The total solar eclipse will begin from the southern Pacific Ocean. It will pass through North America and Mexico and reach Canada. It will also be partially visible in countries like Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, French Polynesia and Jamaica. This solar eclipse will not be visible in India because it will be night here.

A total of two solar eclipses will occur in the year 2024. The second solar eclipse will occur on October 2, the day of Gandhi Jayanti. It will be an Annular Solar Eclipse, in which the Ring of Fire will also be visible. That solar eclipse will be visible in South American countries like Argentina and Chile. It will also be partially visible in South America, Antarctica and the Pacific Ocean. Solar eclipse will not be visible in India because it will be night here.

Solar eclipse is a situation when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth. Due to this, the image of the Sun is covered behind the Moon for some time, this is called solar eclipse. Apart from this, lunar eclipse is also going to be visible on 25th March and 18th September.
