SpaceX, the company of Elon Musk, chief of global electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla, is making a large number of spy satellites for the US Intelligence Agency. For this, SpaceX got a secret contract worth about 1.8 billion dollars three years ago. Its goal is to create a powerful spying system. These satellites will have the ability to obtain imaging of the Earth by operating in low orbit.

Reuters’s Report According to , this network of spy satellites will be created by SpaceX’s Starshield unit. This contract indicates increased confidence of the US Defense Department Pentagon on SpaceX. However, there have also been differences between Musk and the US government on issues such as the use of Starlink satellites in Ukraine.

Starshield’s spy satellites will be in low orbit from Earth and will assist US ground troops. They will locate the target on the ground and share the data related to it with America’s military and intelligence officials. In this report, quoting sources, it has been said that if this contract is successful then it can improve the ability of the US government and military to find their targets around the world.

In the second launch also, 23 satellites were sent into space. These launches took place from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida in the US. In these, satellites were launched with the help of Falcon 9 rocket. Starlink plans to provide satellite internet service in many countries. Starlink service has started in some countries of the world including America. Tech company Amazon, one of the big e-commerce and tech companies, also plans to launch an internet satellite in the first half of this year. Its plan is to rapidly expand the scope of this service. This may increase competition in this segment.
