Pro version of PS5 can also be brought this year. Hardware improvements can be made in its Pro version. Its price may also be higher than the standard variant of PS5. The company introduced the Pro version of PS4 three years after its launch 11 years ago.
Sony cut its PS 5 sales forecast for the fiscal year ending in March to 21 million units. During the shopping season at the end of last year company Sales were weak. Recently, Sony had said that there may be some decline in PlayStation sales from the next financial year and it does not plan to launch any big gaming titles. Last year the company had said that it was considering separating its financial business. It plans to list Sony Financial Group next year and hold a stake of slightly less than 20 percent.
In the third quarter of last year, Sony’s operating profit increased by 10 percent to $ 3.08 billion. The performance of the company’s financials, movies and music businesses has been strong. Till a few decades ago, Sony was known as an electronics manufacturer. Over the last few years, it has expanded into segments like movies, music, games and chips.
