The demand for powerful motorcycles has increased rapidly in the last few years. Sales of Royal Enfield, the leading company of this segment, increased by 34 percent last month to 61,407 units. The company had sold 50,265 units in the same month last year. Its total sales including exports in June were 77,109 units.

Royal Enfield is seeing more demand in 350 cc capacity motorcycles. The company has Bullet, Hunter, Classic and Meteor in this range. It sold 68,554 units of 350 cc motorcycles in June. This is an increase of 36 percent compared to the same period last year. However, sales of the company’s 350-600 cc motorcycles declined by nearly 23 percent to 8,445 units. The company’s CEO, B Govindarajan said, “Royal Enfield strives to create products that excite our customers. The company has achieved its highest ever sales for the first quarter.” Royal Enfield launched the Hunter 350 in the US and Latin America a few months ago.

The company may also start the electric motorcycle category soon. The company’s electric motorcycle is being developed in collaboration with Stark Future. There is a strategic partnership between Royal Enfield and Stark Future. Royal Enfield can also make batteries and motors for this motorcycle.

This electric motorcycle can be introduced next year. Siddhartha Lal, managing director of Eicher Motors, which owns Royal Enfield, recently confirmed the development of an electric motorcycle. He had said, “We are moving forward with confidence in our EV journey. We have made a lot of progress with our electric motorcycle plans. This is also a great start to our partnership with Stark Future.” For this, the company has started work on adding new supply partners and creating production lines. Its price in America is $3,999. This motorcycle made in India is also sold in Indonesia, Thailand, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Britain, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. The company plans to increase its export market.
