Indian Mobile Congress 2023 has started from today and Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this largest technology platform of India at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. On the first day, Reliance Jio also showcased its satellite-based high-speed internet service, JioSpaceFiber. PM Modi addressed the people after inaugurating IMC 2023. Regarding 5G, he said that the average broadband speed increased almost three times last year. India was ranked 118th for a long time in terms of global internet speed, now it is closer to 40 due to 5G rollout. He said that within a year of the rollout of 5G, it has more than 4 lakh base stations and is covering 80 percent of the population with 97 percent subscribers.

He said that India is preparing to become a global leader in 6G technology. While talking about the importance given by the government to the startup ecosystem, he said that while in 2014 there were around a few hundred startups in the country, today this number has gone up to more than a lakh. He told that India is one of the top 3 startup ecosystems in the world.

PM Modi also mentioned Made-in-India and said that Google will make its Pixel devices in India and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and iPhone 15 have already started being made in India. Soon the world will use made-in-India phones. Apart from this, he also told that before 2014, India was a mobile phone importer, but now it has also become an exporter. India is now the world’s second largest mobile manufacturer and exports electronics worth Rs 2 lakh crore.
