Bhavish Aggarwal shared a new video on his X handle on Wednesday, in which Ola Solo is shown self-driving in reality. Putting an end to people’s April Fool’s suspicions, Aggarwal confirmed that the Ola Solo autonomous e-scooter is a reality. He wrote in his tweet, “”Not just an April Fool’s joke! We announced Ola Solo yesterday. It went viral and many people debated whether it was real or an April Fool’s joke! While the video was meant to make people laugh, the technology behind it is such that we are working on it and have made a prototype. “It shows the kind of pioneering work our engineering teams are capable of.”

The video shows the e-scooter riding itself in a basement parking lot. From the design it appears to be the Ola S1 Pro, which is the company’s flagship model. The e-scooter is seen making its way automatically without any rider or help among the vehicles parked everywhere. At times it seems like it is struggling, but then the scooter takes care of itself, which shows its good balancing.

Aggarwal had claimed in his tweet that customers are going to see this technology in the company’s products in the coming times. He further wrote in his tweet, “Ola Solo is a glimpse of the future of mobility and our engineering teams are working on autonomous and self-balancing technology in two-wheelers, which you will see in our future products.”

Ola claims that Solo is an electric scooter, which will be traffic-smart, AI-enabled and completely autonomous. According to the company, every aspect of the Solo electric scooter, from hardware to software, has been conceived in-house.
