There has been a decline in sales of Nissan and Renault in June 2023. While Nissan’s sales declined by 27 percent year-on-year, Renault’s sales declined by 42 percent year-on-year. Nissan’s month-on-month sales have also declined by 3 percent, but in the case of Renault it has grown by 18 percent.

The Nissan Magnite is currently the only offering in Nissan’s portfolio as the Kicks was discontinued earlier this year due to the new BS6 Phase-2 emission regulations. The Renault lineup includes the Triber, Kiger and Kwid.

Nissan sales in June 2023

In June 2023, Nissan Motor India sales declined by 27 percent year-on-year and 2,552 units of Magnite were sold on month-on-month basis. This was less than 3,515 units sold in June 2022. Month-on-month sales were also down 3 percent compared to 2,618 units sold in May 2023. Sales of Nissan Kicks have now stopped. Nissan Magnite had recently crossed the sales mark of 1 lakh units. In June 2023, the company also introduced the new Magnite GEZA Special Edition.

Renault India June 2023 sales

Renault India currently has a market share of 1.7 per cent, down 1.2 per cent from 2.9 per cent in June 2022. Sales across every model in the company’s lineup have declined 42 percent year-on-year, although performance has improved 18 percent month-on-month.

The company sold 5,450 units in June 2023, which is less than 9,317 units sold in June 2022, while sales in May 2023 were 4,625 units. The 2023 Renault Kwid, Kiger and Triber were launched earlier this year. The models updated with the new standards now meet Phase II BS6 emissions, while they also meet RDE standards.

Renault Triber tops the list with 2,257 units sold last month, which is 33 percent less than 3,346 units sold in June 2022. Month-on-month sales improved by 7 percent from 2,115 units sold in May 2023. Kiger sales saw a 46 percent year-on-year decline in June 2023. 1,844 units were sold last month, which is less than 3,411 units sold in June 2022. Month-on-month sales improved 8 percent from 1,713 units sold in May 2023. Last month, Kwid sales fell by 47 percent to 1,349 units. This was compared to 2,560 units sold in June 2022. Month-on-month sales improved by 69 percent compared to 797 units sold in May 2023.
