Starting salaries for an astronaut candidate fall in between the two highest pay levels for federal jobs in the Houston area, according to the website. In the recruitment conducted in 2020, NASA had kept the salary range for an astronaut between $1,05,000 to $1,61,000. The agency has set a deadline of April 2 for the recruitment in 2024.

Talking about the important missions of NASA, Juno Mission is in discussion these days in which space scientists have made a big discovery. You will be surprised to know that Europa, the moon of Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, is producing so much oxygen, which is enough for 10 lakh people. A study published in Nature Astronomy shows that about 1,000 tons of oxygen is released daily from the icy surface of Europa, which can provide breathing space for 1 million people for 24 hours.

NASA’s Juno spacecraft has been collecting information about Jupiter and its moons for many years. Scientists conducted this study using data from the JDE instrument mounted on the spacecraft. Two years ago, in September 2022, Juno flew close to Europa. After studying the data collected at that time, it was found that this moon of Jupiter is releasing a lot of oxygen.
