Nasa Curiosity Mars Rover captures 360 degree view of Mars Gediz Vallis

American space agency NASA has been sending missions to Mars for many years. NASA’s Curiosity Mars Rover is completing missions on the Red Planet. The rover has shown a 360 degree panoramic view of the valley where it is standing. The panoramic image has been shared on the YouTube page of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This place is called Gediz Vallis channel, which was formed billions of years ago.

NASA says that the Geddes Wallis Channel was one of the last features to be built on 5 kilometer high Mount Sharp. Curiosity Rover has been present at the base of Mound Sharp since 2014. The Geddes Wallis Channel contains large amounts of boulders and other debris.

This view was recorded on February 1. It was then Curiosity Mars Rover’s 4,084th day on Mars. The rover captured this view using its left black and white navigation camera. The rover clicked 10 pictures, after combining which this 360 degree picture was prepared.

‘Curiosity’ rover has collected many important information after reaching Mars. After analyzing the soil crack patterns seen by the rover, last year scientists came to the conclusion that Mars also once had water, which evaporated. Scientists also believe that at one time Mars may have been a planet with dry and wet weather cycles, meaning it was habitable.
