Mobile phone use banned in delhi schools by DOE issues advisory details

A big decision has been taken regarding the use of mobile phones inside schools in Delhi. Teachers and students in Delhi schools will no longer be able to use mobile phones. The Directorate of Education of Delhi Government has banned the use of mobile phones inside schools. An advisory for this has been issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE). It says that students are banned from using mobile phones inside schools, in classrooms, libraries, play grounds, and school campuses. Not only students, teachers also come under the purview of this ban, and they too cannot use mobile phones during this period.

Along with banning mobile phones inside schools in Delhi, it has also been said in the advisory that instead of carrying mobile phones inside schools for emergencies, a helpline should be created so that students can make necessary calls in case of emergency. The advisory has also issued a request to parents not to send their children to school with mobile phones. If the child still brings a mobile phone to school, the school will be responsible for the safe custody of the phone. The issue of excessive dependence on gadgets like mobile phones has been raised in the advisory. In which it is said that excessive use of such gadgets has a negative impact on school results.

Apart from this, it has been mentioned in the advisory regarding mobile use that excessive use of devices like smartphones leads to adverse effects in the user like depression, sleep problems, loss of eyesight etc. It can also have a negative impact on the academic performance of the student. Apart from this, it has also been said that excessive use of mobile phones can lead to incidents like bullying tendencies, exploitation and sharing of wrong content. The Directorate of Education has appealed to students, parents, and teachers to cooperate to reach a consensus in this matter.
