MG Motor to Increase Price of Hector, Gloster, other Models from Next Month

MG Motor said that due to increasing cost of production, it is necessary to increase the prices of vehicles. However, the company has not told by how much the prices will be increased. It will present special offers to its customers at the end of this year which will reduce the burden of price rise. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki, Honda Cars and Tata Motors had also informed about increasing the prices of vehicles from the beginning of next year. The company’s most popular SUV Hector competes with Hyundai’s Creta, Kia’s Seltos and Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara. At this year’s Auto Expo, MG Motor relaunched Hector and Hector Plus with a new front design. It has a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system and ADAS Level 2 technology.

However, there was no change in its engine. Hector is available with 1.5 liter petrol, 1.5 liter petrol hybrid and 2.0 liter diesel engine. It has six speed manual and automatic gearbox options. The sales of the company’s ZS EV are also increasing rapidly. A few months ago, an order for 500 units was received from EV ride sharing platform BluSmart Mobility. This electric car will be included in the fleet of BluSmart Mobility in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.

The company’s Comet EV is the most affordable electric car sold in the country. Its starting price is Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Last week, JSW Group had announced the purchase of 35 percent stake in the country’s unit of MG Motor. This stake has been purchased from China’s SAIC, which controls the company. However, the value of this deal has not been disclosed. This may make it easier for MG Motor to expand. It plans to start a second plant soon. Company sales have increased in the last few months.
