The demand for luxury cars in the country has increased in the last few years. Audi and Mercedes, makers of premium cars, have made record sales in the festive season this year. Demand for these companies was weak this year. However, luxury car companies are expecting some compensation in the festive season.

This year, the festive season from Onam to Diwali has been good for these companies. Demand has increased due to the launch of new cars and strong consumer sentiment. German luxury car company Mercedes-Benz has made record delivery of cars on Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali. This is indicating the response of customers. Mercedes hopes so. The company will have record sales this year. However, supply chain disruptions may remain a challenge for Mercedes. This may affect the production of the company’s SUV. The launch of new and updated models has helped Mercedes in increasing the pace of sales. Apart from models with petrol and diesel engines, the company also has electric vehicles (EV).

Earlier this year, the company had said that it would focus on top-end variants. The company is getting strong demand for these variants. In this category, Mercedes has models like AMG SL55 Roadster, AMG GT 63 SE Performance and G-Class. The company claims that out of every four vehicles sold in the country, one is a top-end vehicle.

Recently the company had said that it plans to launch four new electric vehicles in the country. Mercedes expects India to contribute about 25 percent to its total electric vehicles (EV) sales by 2027. Mercedes sells four luxury electric vehicles in the Indian market, EQS, EQB, EQC and EQS AMG. Audi, one of the biggest companies in the luxury car market, is getting strong demand for models like A4, A6, Q3 and Q5. In the first half of the current year, the company has sold 3,474 units. For Audi, this is an increase of almost 97 percent compared to the same period last year.
