In the last few years, there have been some big deals regarding telecast of cricket matches in India. In this series, Viacom18 has acquired the rights to broadcast on TV and digital media for Team India’s series to be held in the country for the next five years for approximately Rs 6,000 crore. Sony and Star India were also involved in the race for this deal.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has improved Price Separate e-bids were invited for TV and digital. Viacom18 has paid Rs 2,862 crore for TV and around Rs 3,101 crore for digital. These rights will be applicable from India’s three-match series against Australia starting from September 22 and will last till March 31, 2028. During this period, Team India will play a total of 88 international matches. These include 25 Tests, 27 ODI matches and 36 T20 matches. The per match value of this deal is more than Rs 67 crore.
