The strong challenge from Android smartphone makers like Samsung and Xiaomi has pushed Apple down from the top position in the smartphone market. The latest data from research firm IDC has shown that Apple’s smartphone shipments fell by about 10 percent in the first quarter of 2024. Global smartphone shipments increased by 7.8% to 289.4 million units between January and March, with Samsung having the highest market share of 20.8%. That means Samsung has now come to the top position.
