The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increased in the last few years. However, this is also causing some problems. To deal with this, the central government has decided to make regulations related to AI. The first draft of these regulations can be prepared by July this year.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, “AI will be used to achieve our goals of economic growth. This will have a big impact on sectors like agriculture and healthcare. We do not want to compete with ChatGPT We are not going in this direction. The focus will be on many languages of the country.”

The country’s AI market is expected to grow to $17 billion by 2027 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25-35 percent. A report by Nasscom and Boston Consulting Group, an organization of software companies, states that the reasons behind this growth will be increased expenditure of enterprises on tech and investment in AI. Last year, Artificial Intelligence (AI) had a high ranking in the searches done on the Internet search engine Google. It has left behind the searches done through keywords related to Crypto, Bitcoin and Web3. Last year, keywords related to AI like ChatGPT were searched more.

The cases of making fake videos or deepfakes of celebrities have also increased with the use of AI. Recently, the central government had warned social media platforms Facebook and YouTube about deepfakes. Social media platforms including Facebook and YouTube were told that deepfakes and posting content that spreads obscenity or misinformation are banned under the country’s law. Regarding this, Chandreshkhar had said that despite the rules, many social media companies have not updated the terms and conditions for their users. Under these rules, content that is harmful to children, obscene or imitating another person is banned. Chandrashekhar said that these companies should increase awareness about these rules and tell the users when they log in that they cannot post such content.
