Union IT and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Chakshu means reporting something that people suspect is a fraud. With this user-friendly platform, customers can immediately report any suspicious communication, be it a suspicious call, attractive SMS or WhatsApp message. Such fraud cases include messages like bank account, payment wallet, SIM card, gas connection, electricity account, KYC update etc.

When asked about the leaked mobile number, Minister Vaishnav assured the citizens that the Chakshu portal will resolve this issue as well. Subscribers can report cases of number leaks and action will be taken against the culprits. He said that more than 1 crore mobile numbers have been disconnected in the last 9 months due to being linked to fraud activities. The Telecom Department also introduced Digital Intelligence Platform to enhance partnership between law enforcement agencies, banks and other financial institutions. This platform will provide exchange of information necessary to effectively combat fraud.
