Google Files Lawsuit Against Chinese Nationals for Fraudulent Crypto Apps on Play Store

According to CoinTelegraph report, people joining these apps were asked to make deposits and later their access was blocked. Google alleges that these two Chinese citizens had given false identity and location and given wrong information about these apps to publish on Play Store. These fraud crypto apps are estimated to have more than one lakh downloads.

The title of one of these apps is TionRT. Google says that both of them had published at least 87 crypto scam apps on the Play Store. A legal case is also being filed by Google against the developers of these apps. The crypto market has grown rapidly in the last few years. Thousands of cryptocurrencies have been launched in this market. Along with this, scam cases have also increased rapidly in which billions of dollars have been stolen.

Recently Google has started a new feature for this segment. In this, the balance in crypto wallets can be seen through an easy search on Google. Balance information will be provided in wallets based on the blockchains of Arbitrum, Avalanche, Bitcoin, Optimism, Polygon and Fantom. However, balances visible through Google search will not be updated in real time. Balances will be visible only in tokens of blockchains eligible for this feature. Blockchain transactions are saved on public domains. A wallet address does not reveal the identity of its holder. The control of every crypto wallet lies in its private key and this key is with the holder of the wallet.
