Fraud Calls on Whatsapp: There is a festive atmosphere across the country, but one news is very important. If you use WhatsApp, then reading this news becomes even more important for you. Many people are complaining on social media that they are receiving such calls and WhatsApp voice calls, in which it is being said that their family members will be brought to the police station. The person in front is claiming to be a policeman and blaming the family members of the people. Threatening the arrival of media. Then money is being demanded in exchange for releasing the family member.

According to a report by Times of India, Kolkata’s Lalbazar Police has also warned in this regard. It has been said that people should be cautious about extortion calls, messages and e-mails coming in the name of police, central agencies and courts. Police say that no government or law-enforcement agency makes calls or video calls without written information.

A LinkedIn user named Mohit Sharma has shared a video of a fraud call received on WhatsApp on his social media account. The user told that his mother received a call. The WhatsApp caller said that his son has been arrested by the police. The caller tried to know personal information like name, occupation and also tried to harass her emotionally. From Mohit’s post it seems that he understood this fraud. He has appealed to the people to cross check everything.

It can be seen in the video that the victim has received a video call from a number – 923121414741. Caller says your son’s name is Raj? When the answer is yes, he tells that Raj has been arrested along with 4 more boys. He has raped a 16 year old girl. Not only this, the policeman also claims to call Raj and get him to talk to him. In return only the sound of crying is heard. Caller says the charges are serious. Media and DCP are also going to come. When the victim wants to know the location of the police station, the caller gives vague answers and disconnects the call saying that we will meet in the court tomorrow.

This is not the first case, recently a female teacher had shared the incident that happened to her on social media. He had also received a similar call. The claim was that his daughter, who works in Bangalore, has been arrested. The woman said that the caller also made her talk to a girl whose voice was exactly like her daughter. After this, the caller extorted about Rs 7,000 from the woman to hush up the matter. By the time she could verify things, the financial loss had already occurred.

Interestingly, the profile photo seen along with the phone number in such WhatsApp calls is of a person wearing police uniform.
