Air Taxis in India are expected to be launched in India by the year 2026. A company named InterGlobe Enterprises is going to start an all-electric air taxi service across the country in collaboration with America based Archer Aviation. According to PTI report, the aim of this service is to transport passengers from one place to another in less time. After the start of the service, it will take only 7 minutes to reach from Connaught Place in Delhi to Gurugram in Haryana. Normally this journey by road is 27 kilometers, which is completed in one to one and a half hours.

Both the companies have signed an MoU to launch all-electric air taxi service in India. However, regulatory approval is yet to be received to start the service. If this approval is granted, the people of Delhi will get another means of transport. This will reduce congestion on the roads and will also help in combating pollution.

America’s Archer Aviation is engaged in manufacturing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. These are seen as the mobility of the future. Countries around the world are working on starting air taxi service in their countries. Many countries have even tried air taxi trials.

of ndtv Report According to , the air taxi will be a kind of ‘midnight’ e-aircraft. It can carry passengers up to 161 kilometers. There is a plan to start this service with 200 aircraft in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Giving an example, the companies said that a journey which usually takes 60 to 90 minutes by car in Delhi will take about 7 minutes by air taxi.

However, information about how much fare will have to be paid for this has not been given yet. It is expected that more information will be revealed after getting regulatory approval.
