Delhi School Closed: The level of air pollution in Delhi-NCR remains the same. Even on Wednesday, the air quality index (AQI) level in many areas of the capital crossed the 400 level. This means that the capital’s air has become extremely poisonous. The government measures taken so far do not seem to be having any effect. Delhi government has taken a big decision to protect children from pollution. Winter break has been announced in all the schools of Delhi.

According to the notification of Delhi Government, winter break has been declared in all the schools of Delhi from November 9 to November 18. This might be happening for the first time that winter holidays have been done before winter.

For the last few days, schools were shifted to online classes. All the schools were organizing classes on mediums like Zoom app and Google Meet. Now the Delhi government has said that all the schools in the capital will remain closed till November 18.

The special thing is that the winter break holidays which fall in the last week of December and the first week of January, have been declared much ahead of time. The government has taken this decision keeping in mind the health of children. The level of air pollution in Delhi and NCR has been in the ‘hazardous’ category since the end of October. In many areas the AQI level has crossed the 900 mark. Keeping in view the safety of children, all the students except board students were taking online classes.

Now orders have been issued to close all the schools under winter break. Holidays are being adjusted as winter break, so that the syllabus can be completed on time.
