Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced Car-Free Day in Karnal district of Haryana. The Chief Minister has declared Tuesday as a car-free day. This means that cars will not be seen on the roads in Karnal on Tuesday. Instead, all government officials will have to commute by bicycle. The Chief Minister also said that if he goes to visit the district on Tuesday, he himself will travel by bicycle.

Manohar Lal Khattar has been MLA from Karnal, Haryana twice. The Chief Minister declared Car Free Day on Tuesday during a cycle rally. Actually, the Chief Minister was present in Karnal to flag off the Drug Free Haryana Cyclothon Rally. He started this youth rally, the purpose of which is said to be an effort to keep the youth in Haryana away from drug addiction.

Before the beginning of the rally, the Chief Minister gave a special message to all the youth participants present there. He instructed the youth to stay away from drugs or other types of addiction. After flagging off the rally, he himself participated in the cyclothon. During this, the participants also raised slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Nasha Mukt Haryana. An official statement said that thousands of youth participated in the rally in Karnal. It was said that Haryana will now prepare for the world record in cyclothon with 3 lakh youth. After which it will leave behind the record of 37 thousand set in the cycle rally of Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister said that this campaign against drugs will pass through many districts of Haryana. Then finally it will be completed only after coming to Karnal. For which a mega rally of youth will be organized on 25th September. This rally will be organized under the ‘Drug Free Haryana’ campaign. The minister said that the Haryana government wants to save the youth from drug addiction. For this, the government is taking steps forward with the cooperation of public and religious institutions.
