BYD India has finally launched its electric sedan, the Seal, in India. This EV was shown for the first time at the Delhi Auto Expo. Bookings for the EV are already underway. Now the company has also revealed its price. The company will also give some free accessories to pre-booking customers. Seal EV will be offered in India in three variants – Dynamic, Premium and Performance, which will be equipped with different ranges and powertrains. The company claims that Seal can give a range of up to 650 kilometers in a single charge. Let us know about it in detail.

BYD Seal EV price in India, availability

BYD Seal has been launched in India in three variants, which include Dynamic, Premium and Performance. There is an entry-level version with Dynamic RWD setup, which is priced in India at Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom), the premium version with RWD setup is priced at Rs 45.55 lakh (ex-showroom) and the top-of-the-line The performance variant is priced at Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom).

Seal EV will be brought into the country in India via CBU (completely built) route. It will be made available in four color options – Arctic Blue, Aurora White, Atlantis Gray and Cosmos Black.

Interested customers can book the EV online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The booking amount has been set at Rs 1.25 lakh and customers who book the EV by March 31 will get a 3 kW portable charging box, 7 kW home charger and VTOL mobile power supply unit, six years of roadside assistance and a free inspection service.

Meanwhile, customers who book BYD Seal by April 30 will also get the opportunity to receive a standard UEFA match ticket and a round-trip flight ticket from India to the match city.

BYD Seal EV specifications, features

Starting with the powertrain, the base Dynamic variant gets a 61.4 kWh LFP blade battery, which comes with a single 204 hp electric motor. The motor powers the rear wheels. The variant claims a range of up to 510 km on a full charge. At the same time, the mid variant is premium, which is equipped with a large 82.5 kWh battery pack with a single electric motor. The trim is capable of generating power of 313 hp. This is also a RWD model and claims to offer a range of 650 km on a single charge.

There is the top-of-the-line AWD Performance variant, which gets an 82.5 kWh battery pack. It has a dual motor setup, which sends power to all four wheels. The setup is capable of generating a total power of 530 HP and claims to offer a full charge range of up to 580 km, slightly lower than the Mid trim.

The Sealed electric sedan can be charged at speeds of up to 150kW and goes from 10-80 per cent in 37 minutes. Using a regular 11kW AC charger, it takes 8.6 hours to charge from 0-100 percent. BYD is offering 8 years/160,000 km warranty on the battery and 8 years/150,000 km warranty on the motor and motor controller unit in the Indian market.

The length of the EV is 4,800 mm, width is 1875 mm and height is 1460 mm. The wheelbase of BYD Seal is 2920 mm.

On the inside, the EV gets a massive 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system. The EV also has a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and head-up display.
