Scientists have always had an eye on Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system. There are storms on this gaseous planet that have been there for many years. A picture of one such storm had come to light recently. Now American space agency NASA has shared a new image of stormy weather on Jupiter. NASA wrote on its Instagram account, ‘Storm on Jupiter – it is the fifth planet from our Sun. NASA wrote that since there is no solid surface on the planet, storms on Jupiter can last for many years and decades. Because of this, winds blow there at a speed of more than 643 kilometers per hour.

This picture has come to light with the help of NASA’s Juno Spacecraft. It is said that Juno was about 13 thousand kilometers away from Jupiter when it captured huge clouds of jet stream. The jet stream consists of ammonia and water. In the picture, storms with blue, white and gray clouds can be seen in the atmosphere of Jupiter. This picture has received about 3 lakh likes and many comments so far. One user described the picture as a painting.

Last month, NASA also captured a ‘red spot’ on the planet Jupiter. That red spot is a storm, which has been forming on Jupiter for the last 350 years. The first information about that storm came in 1979. The Voyager spacecraft saw the red spot. Since then the storm has been getting smaller.

A decrease in both its height and width has been observed. The Great Red Spot is twice the size of the Earth. This storm exists about 300 km below the clouds of Jupiter. Due to lack of solid land on Jupiter, the storm is not weakening. Here winds can blow at a speed of about 643 kilometers per hour.
