Regarding deep fake videos, 56% people have said that such videos should be removed from the internet within 24 hours after the complaint is filed. These videos are made using Artificial Intelligence. Due to which it becomes difficult for the viewer to understand whether the video is real or fake. In this regard, this survey has been conducted in which 32 thousand people from 319 districts of India have been included. People say that if their deepfake, or that of any of their family members, is going viral on the internet, then a provision should be made to remove it within 24 hours.

The government has also come into action regarding deepfake videos. The government has declared deepfakes as a new threat to democracy. Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that if citizens are troubled by deepfake videos and lodge FIRs against social media platforms, then the government will also assist these citizens in case of violation of IT rules. He said that the government will soon bring new rules to deal with deepfakes.

Describing deepfakes as a matter of concern, the government has instructed social media companies to identify deepfake videos spreading misconceptions as soon as possible and take action against them.
